The LABELLE ancestor may have passed through French Island on the way to Union Co., SD. And, maybe both ancestors passed through French Island on their way from Ottawa, Canada to Union Co., SD. I am looking for information regarding my grandmother and great grandmother and her spouse. Grandmother: Angeline Rose RICHTER born in Highland, Wisconsin, April 16, 1905. Her parents or my Great Grand parents: Thoms or Thomas RICHTER born in Wisconsin. First child, Albina RICHTER, born in Highland, Wisconsin. ALBINA ST. CYR born in Canada and immigrated in 1884 or 1891. I remember my grandmother Angeline telling that her roots were French Canadian and could never figure it out. Today I find out that her mother's maiden name was ST. CYR. I am having a rough time finding the RICHTER and ST. CYR family in Census records. Seeking any information on Charles OWEN/OWENS. Charles was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in July 1835. He went to Beloit, Wisconsin in 1872 with his oldest son Charles to stay with a brother ( name unknown). Family history says he died October 23,1872 in Beloit, Wisconsin but I can find no record of it. The oldest son Charles stayed with relatives in Wisconsin. Another brother Jefferson and a sister Zenaide stayed with old Aunts in Lynn, Massachusetts. The youngest sister Fanny Jodine OWEN was put up for adoption in Portland, Maine when their mother Jane Amelia DIMOCK OWEN died in March 1873. Fanny was adopted by Woodbury HATCH in March 1873 and her name was changed to Mary Elizabeth HATCH. She later married Almon Loring BASTON. All of the children of Charles and Jane were born in Nova Scotia. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
